Default Possible Hardware Malfunctions Boot - outs.

Ok, I get this WAYYYY too often. 19 times in a row, and thats why I decided to put a topic up here. I cannot stand this. I can't sign in, I can't even open the dang client. Every time I do, I get "Guild Wars has detected a possible hardware malfunction. This may be due to a faulty or overheating processor, or memory chip. The program will now terminate."

The word I bolded, and italisized needs to reflect the point of the test...

Why shut me out for a possibility. After all, there is a possiblity I could get electrocuted if a lightning bolt hit a power line near my house...

Just a rant. HELP!

This happened to me once after a power shortage (my ram didn't take it very well), however rebooting fixed the problem. And as far as i know, the possible in the message might just be there because of some legal stuff. If it says there's a possible hardware malfunction, then there's a good chance that there is one. Which brings me to this question: have you checked your CPU and GPU fans for dust.

I agree though, after getting like 5 of those message in a row they should give you a message that says that your system may incur damage if you continue and allow you to whatever you want to your own risks.

Here are a few things to try:
1 Check to see if every thing is seated within your computer fully and properly,
2 check to ensure that the fans on your video card, cpu and any others are working,
3 run everest to check for any possible hardware failing.

Before doing any of these things unplug your computer and press the power button. Always keep yourself grounded to the chasis of your computer to prevent any unwanted static from frying the computer. Check all cables to make sure they are plugged in correctly and not interfereing with fans.

Best way to ensure that all the components are seated correctly is to take them out and replace them into the same spot they came from, beign careful to not force them. They should go in smoothly with a bit of resistance as you are pushing them into place. DO NOT FORCE ANY COMPONENT INTO PLACE, doing so can destroy it.

Hope this helps

I have been getting this a lot lately as well. Since the update to GW for the Lunar Pig event. No error code just exits out to the desktop. I happened 3 times last night down in Urgoz and at random b4 that as well as today.
